What Is Pips Game?

Pips Game is a domino logic puzzle. You place two-number dominoes on a grid and make every colored region obey a rule, such as a fixed total or a required cell value.

The word 'pips' means the dots on a domino tile. In this version, each half of a domino fills one square, so every move affects two cells and often two regions at the same time.

That mix of number logic, spatial planning, and fast drag-and-drop controls is what makes Pips Game satisfying. You can test ideas quickly, reset when needed, and play unlimited boards online.

Region Rules Explained

Learn the three patterns that drive every board: single-cell rules, total rules, and the visual clues that narrow the right domino choices.

01
Each cell
Match or avoid a single value
02
Region totals
Add every pip inside the color zone
03

Use colors, shapes, and remaining tiles
01
Each cell
Match or avoid a single value
Some regions care about the value in each covered cell. An 'Each = 4' rule means every square in that region must contain a 4. An 'Each ≠ 2' rule means no covered square in that region can contain a 2.
02
Region totals
Add every pip inside the color zone
Other regions look at the total. For a 'Total = 8' rule, add every pip that lands inside that colored area. The same idea applies to 'Total >' and 'Total <' rules, so the whole region matters, not just one placement.
03
Read the board
Use colors, shapes, and remaining tiles
The fastest solves come from reading three clues together: the region colors, the domino shape you want to place, and the remaining tiles in the pool. When only a few dominoes can satisfy a region, you have found a strong lead.

Pips Game Difficulty Levels

Switch between fast practice boards and deeper grids depending on how much time you want to spend.

6×6Easy
Avg. ~3 min

The best starting point for learning the rules. Smaller grids make it easier to see forced moves and understand how each domino affects nearby regions.

7×7Medium
Avg. ~8 min

A balanced Pips Game board with enough complexity to reward planning. You will juggle region totals, cell rules, and domino orientation at the same time.

8×8Hard
Avg. ~15 min

Built for deeper solving sessions. Larger boards create tighter interactions between regions, so every placement needs stronger deduction.

Pips Game Strategy Tips

1

Scan for Forced Placements

Start with regions that leave very few legal values or totals. Those tight spots create forced moves and make the rest of the board easier to read.

2

Check the Pool Regularly

The 'Available Pips' pool tells you which numbers are still unused. If a region needs a 5 or a total of 8, check the pool before guessing.

3

Don't Fear the Reset

When a section becomes messy, clear a few risky placements and rebuild from your strongest deductions. In Pips Game, a clean board often reveals the next forced domino.
